The Power of Prayer

"Jesus replied to them, “Have faith in God. I assure you: If anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea, ‘and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for-- believe that you have received them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoing.” Mark 11:22-24 HCSB

Got faith? If you have faith then you can pray. If you can pray then answers will be given to you. Isn’t it amazing that He does this? Answers prayer I mean! Whatever we ask it is as if we have already received the answer for it. It doesn’t always mean it will be the answer we were expecting. Yet, it is an answer.

Your answer may be yes, it may be no, and maybe even not right now. Whatever the answer is God will hear your prayer and answer it! That is the power of prayer.

I can’t tell how many prayers I have prayed and wandered what if God really answered it the way I wanted. Would it have been the right one? I mean not everything we pray for should be a “yes it will be done” answer. Don’t you agree?

Sometimes, it o.k. to hear God tell us “no!” Especially if that is the answer we need to hear. Still, it may not be the answer we need to hear just yet. God may not always us right away. There is the verse, Psalm 46:10 NKJV “Be still, and know that I am God!” This verse helps us to understand that God wants to teach us something. Sometimes, “No” means “WAIT!”

Nevertheless, God hears each of our prayers no matter how big or how small they are. He may not answer them right away but they will be answered in His timing! Be patient! Learn to listen to the voice of God and through the power of your prayers!

  1. Sometimes our prayer time should not be just asking for stuff but praising God and then listening. I have to remind myself of this important aspect of prayer a lot. So many times we want to just bombard God with stuff on our minds when we should be listening. Great posting and picture. Thanks
